Pumpkin Fest … a sure sign of fall

This past weekend, we went to the Pumpkin Fest in the beautiful historic downtown area of our town. My parents were visiting this week and we met up with them on Main Street and started off down the way to see what we could get into.

There were lots of neat things to look at, the air was filled with the warm aroma of funnel cakes and kettle corn being made at the curb. Kids everywhere were dressed up in their halloween costumes where they went from store to store trick-or-treating.
After lunch the girls painted pumpkins and we headed on home for a bit.

To stroll around and watch people and kids interacting, I had a sweet sense of this town we live in. On the way home, Brian looked at me and said, “This is a great place to raise a family.” I couldn’t agree more but all I could do was nod my head. This place feels like home in my heart.

That afternoon, Taylor attended the cutest little birthday party at a bakery where they gave the kids hats & aprons and let them make their own cookies to bring home. Mmmm….so sweet!
